Why Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is an effective drug-free method to make positive changes in your life. It will help you overcome those limiting beliefs and disruptive behaviours that are holding you back from being in your power and leading the happy and healthy lifestyle you deserve.

How does Hypnotherapy work?

Hypnotherapy allows us to have a conversation with your unconscious mind, replacing the negative self-talk with positive suggestions instead.

We all have up and down days. Sometimes though we can dwell too much on the negative, our inner critic. This can be just human nature, and can be explained by psychological concepts and human bias. It becomes a problem though if these choices develop into beliefs and patterns that negatively impact your life.

As a treatment, Hypnotherapy can be very impactful on it’s own or can be used as an adjunct therapy. I often work with local GP’s and Psychologists who refer their patients to me for complimentary treatment alongside their prescribed traditional methods.

What can Hypnotherapy help with?

 

Hypnotherapy will help with that negative self-talk that exacerbates depression and anxiety. It will strengthen your resolve to give up sugar, to quit smoking or reduce weight. It will help you conquer fears and phobias or provide you methods to manage stress.

 

ADDICTIONS

Addictions come in many forms, including cigarettes, drugs, sex, soft drink, gambling, and alcohol, just to name a few.

Hypnotherapy goes straight to the part of the mind that keeps the addiction in place, enabling you to change the “program” in your mind. You first changed the program when you started developing an addiction, and now you can change it back again to end this addiction forever.

Addictions work by hijacking the body’s natural reward and expectation mechanisms. Through hypnotherapy we build more useful patterns of behaviour and break the cycle of addiction at the source. We work with the triggers that cause this addiction.

Through hypnotherapy, I can help you:

ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

Depression and anxiety are illnesses that can seriously debilitate your life. At their worst, depression and anxiety can be physically painful. Hypnotherapy is an alternative choice for beating these illnesses.

Being overweight affects every aspect of our lives – health, wellness and most of all, self-confidence.

One reason why this occurs is because you don’t address the subconscious, habitual and negative thoughts that so often block us from achieving what we really want. What to expect?

During our session, we will work together to identify the triggers and root cause of the issue you would like to discuss. Then via a range of cognitive and behavioural therapies, I will help you replace the negative, with positive.

At the end of the session, you will leave the studio with confidence, feeling relaxed and calm. You will take with you skills, tools and the knowledge to maintain your new positive life choices.

Alison’s Story

I became a hypnotherapist in 2016, as hypnotherapy helped me overcome many adversities in my own life, and I wanted to be able to provide these incredible benefits to others.

In 2010 I drank, I smoked and I was overweight at 110 kilos. I was an epileptic and suffered very badly from depression even though I was on anticonvulsants and antidepressants, I was still having seizures and was still very depressed.

I had a weight reduction operation that same year, thinking that the reason I was depressed was because I was obese. This however was not the case. My depression only got worse. In 2014 I hit rock bottom.

After this event, I decided that I needed to take ownership of my life. With the careful help and monitoring by my GP and naturopath I came off all of the medication, slowly, over a 9 month period.

While I was moving in the right direction, I was still depressed. A good friend suggested that I try hypnotherapy, and I was open to giving it a go. The experience was amazing - it changed my life.

Hypnotherapy gave me the tools and skills I needed so that I could release all the negative chatter going around in my head. For me the change was so profound that I knew I needed to share this with others.

I completed my Practitioner of Hypnotherapy certification in 2016, and have since completed my Master Practitioner of Hypnotherapy, Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Master Practitioner of Timeline Transformations and Life Coaching.

Before I became a hypnotherapist, I was a trainer and facilitator for many years working in leadership positions in companies like Optus, Vodafone and Ticketek. I also worked at the Nuclear Reactor, ANSTO for 8 years in a Human Resources capacity.

I have my Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, Diploma of Training Design and Development, Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, Diploma of Leadership, Advanced Diploma of Leadership, Certificate IV in Work Health Safety and Diploma of Work Health Safety.

In 2018 I undertook the biggest personal growth journey of my life and I completed 200 hour Yoga Teacher training. Yoga is not just about the poses it also strips back our layers exposing our limiting beliefs and allows us to move forward. I achieved things that I never imagined possible.

I have been with my husband for 26 years and we are the proud parents of 2 beautiful boys. I live and work in the Sutherland Shire.

My passion in life is helping people to lead their ultimate lives, and I would love to help you in yours. My purpose, the thing that gets me out of bed every morning, is that no one should have to live with anxiety and/or depression.
